Vertical styling cues! Especially head/taillights. I know Cadillac is doing it, but I WANT MORE.
Like this sexy Stinger:
This excellent XJ:
This curvey C6:
You can do it car styling people! I believe in you!

they’re ugly. Stacked rectangular headlamps are even worse.

Everyone is doing their own thing with headlights which is good.
Some more interesting and better than others.

I don’t think
all
carmakers should adopt them, but they’re a thing I’m fond of.

Yeah, that Kia concept was absolutely brilliant. I loved the vertical headlights. I really hope they build that thing and that it’s similar to the concept.

that car defines “German Engineering.”
as in, “Why use one moving part, when six hundred will do ?”

It’s like an expensive watch. Sure there’s more practical cars, sure there’s cheaper cars. But some people just appreciate the engineering at face value.

how is using failure-prone hydraulics to run everything “good engineering?”
making things more complicated than they need be is not “good engineering.” the only people who believe so have no idea what engineering is. You’re talking about a car which needed a bigger engine because they wanted to run the doors, windows, sunroof, and trunk lid hydraulically. For what purpose? because it was the best solution? Not by a long shot.
“Engineering” is not about making things as complex as possible.
